This policy explains what information DryAcre ("DryAcre", "we", "us") collects when you visit dryacre.com, request a trial, or purchase a license — and what we do with it. We keep this short and try to collect as little as possible.
Your field data stays on your computer. DryAcre the desktop application runs entirely on your own PC. Your elevation surveys, contours, watersheds, and drainage plans are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The application needs no account and no internet connection to do its work. This policy is only about the website and the trial/purchase process.
Information you give us
When you request a free trial or buy a license, we collect what you enter on the form:
- Name and email address — to send you the download link and, for a purchase, your license file and receipt.
- State and acres farmed (optional) — to understand who our users are and improve the product.
- Marketing consent — whether you opted in to occasional product-update emails.
Information collected automatically
- Basic server logs — like most websites, our host records request metadata (IP address, browser type, timestamps) to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- Download activity — when you use a download link, we record that it was used, when, and which installer version, tied to your request.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
Payments
When purchasing is enabled, payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle handles your payment details under its own privacy policy; we do not see or store your card number. We receive confirmation of your order and your email address to deliver the license.
How we use your information
- To deliver the trial download, license file, and receipts.
- To respond to your support requests.
- Only if you consented: to send occasional emails about updates and new features. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that operate this business, and only as needed to run it:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, email routing, and storage.
- Resend — sending transactional and update emails.
- Paddle — payment processing (when purchasing is enabled).
How long we keep it
We keep your contact information for as long as needed to support your trial or license relationship and to meet legal/accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

- Access, correct, or delete your information — email support@dryacre.com.
- Unsubscribe from update emails using the link in any such email.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the limited information we hold. Our local-first design means the most sensitive data — your field surveys and drainage plans — never leaves your machine and so is never at risk on our systems.
Children
DryAcre is a professional tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Where we operate
DryAcre is operated from the United States. If you contact us from outside the U.S., your information is processed in the U.S.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
